If you add user-defined properties to a polyglot model, are those properties carried thru to any model derived from the polyglot model?

Yes, but you first need to create the same user-defined custom properties (using the same keyword) in each of the physical targets where you will derive a polyglot model.  Then when you will see that the custom props have been derived as well.
